The TV droned in the background as Harry burst through the door, obviously upset about something. “Haz! Glad you’re back! How was your date?” Louis question. Harry paused as he was heading off in the direction of his bedroom. When he heard Lou’s voice, he looked up from the ground and muttered “Fine, nothing special..”. Louis gave him an apologetic look, “ahh Harry, don’t worry about it. You’ll find the right girl, I promise”. The word ‘girl’ stuck in Harry’s mind. It made him feel uneasy. He had always liked girls, but ever since he laid eyes on Louis, his feelings had changed. Louis was unbelievable, he had the most beautiful smile that could light up a room and eyes that one could get lost in. He often caught himself staring into Louis’ eyes; often at dangerous times like in an interview or performance.
Harry was simply scared. Scared of these feelings he was having for his bandmate, roomate, and more importantly, his bestfriend. Harry needed it to work out with a girl so he could distract himself from thinking about Louis too much. So anytime Louis would make a comment such as this one, Harry would try to ignore it and brush it off. But Harry would die a little inside knowing that the man he loved was already in a relationship. With a girl for god sake! He didn’t know what to do or say besides mutter “thanks” under his breath and head up the stairs to his bedroom in their shared flat.
Louis wondered what he had said to make Harry upset. Harry had had trouble with girls lately and Lou was just trying to help out. Harry was always a little distressed after a failed first date. As his bestfriend, he felt it was his duty to help Harry out. Louis had always been quite fond of Harry. Lately things seemed to change; his feelings for his bestfriend had been growing stronger. He wasn’t scared though. He had been comfortable with these feelings for a while now but he couldn’t shake the feeling that Harry just wanted to be his friend and only that. He knew Harry was straight and he wasn’t about to ruin their friendship.
Harry wasn’t surpised when he heard a knock on his door. “Hold on a sec, Lou!” Harry wiped his eyes. He hadn’t been crying, just a little teary- eyed in frustration. Louis opened the door and carefully made his way across the room where Harry was standing. “Harry, what’s wrong? I didn…” Harry decided in that split second to do something absolutely crazy, but absolutely necessary. He leaned in and smashed their lips together with bruising force before Louis could finish his sentence…
